Give equipment a new life!

We know baseball and softball can be expensive to acquire all the equipment for our teams and individual players. SYAA is helping to give used equipment new life with the next generation of youth players.

We need your help to make this event a success!

SPECIAL REQUESTS:

We have formed several new teams at the 7U, 8U, and 10U levels this season. The new teams have several specific needs, including practice balls and sets of catcher's gear. If you have any items to donate directly to a new volunteer coach & team, please contact james.hurla@gmail.com

IF YOU HAVE EQUIPMENT TO DONATE:

Let us help you clean out your garage! Our volunteers have set up donation bins around the Topeka area to collect old equipment, cleats, etc. Any equipment -- new or used-but-usable condition -- that would help teams and players is welcome.

Suggested items include:

  • Gloves & Mitts
  • Catcher's gear
  • Helmets
  • Bats
  • Balls
  • Bases
  • Pitching machines
  • Batting gloves
  • Training equipment
  • Cleats
  • Baseball/softball pants
  • Sliding shorts
  • Bat bags

To donate, simply bring items to any of the donation locations. Most are volunteer homes -- just look for the donation bin!

IF YOU NEED (OR WANT) NEW EQUIPMENT:

Donated materials will be available for pickup at the SYAA Complex on April 16. Stop by, and take whatever your children and their teams will utilize.

All materials will be first-come, first-serve. Gates will be open 10 a.m.-noon.

Our hope is that this event will:

  • Energize and excite kids about the season ahead. A new-to-me pair of cleats or helmet can do wonders for a child's confidence and excitement level.
  • Launch young teams to success. The expense of starting up a team can be daunting. We hope teams will find equipment that can offset their startup costs.
  • Save parents money. Because feet keep growing while cleats stay the same size!
